Can I get Laser Lipo on Any Part of My Face

Body transformation procedures have been buzzing of late thanks to the wide availability of different cosmetic options. Traditional liposuction, CoolSculpting, AirSculpt, laser liposuction, EmSculpt, and Kybella are just a few of the household names that offer the public a variety of invasive, minimally invasive, and nonsurgical operations from which they can choose.

Choices are great, of course, because they allow us to pick the best fit and decide which procedure is the most convenient for us. By allowing us to combine different techniques and treat different body parts and maximize results, the ability to choose can save both time and money while drastically improving outcomes.

A few of the more common body parts people elect to treat with cosmetic surgery are the:

  • Abdomen
  • Love handles
  • Thighs
  • Lower and upper back
  • Arms
  • Face and Neck

Even though these are the most common areas, not all are treated the same way. Some require wide incisions and remove large amounts of fat, whereas others may be incredibly fragile and better treated with minimally invasive operations. For example, liposuction in the abs is a much more traumatic (meaning the area experiences deeper incisions and considerably more fat is extracted) than in the face or neck. After all, when you get a cosmetic procedure on your face, your surgeon will treat it with much more sensitivity, as a slight change on your face can totally change your appearance.

If you are interested in laser liposuction on the face, this is an excellent procedure to help you contrast signs of aging and to subtly work on the small fat spots on your face and neck. You essentially get all the benefits of a traditional facelift with less downtime and reduced side effects. Other corrections facial laser liposuction provides are improving loose (not hanging) neck skin, and enhancing jawline and neck definition.

In general, the procedure uses laser energy to melt and dissolve fat underneath the skin and later removes it with a vacuum-like tool called a cannula. The idea is similar on the face as with other body parts, but in this area, there usually isn’t too much fat to melt and dissolve. The added benefit of a facial laser liposuction session is that the laser helps tighten the skin as it melts any fatty deposits away. This effect means laser lipo is like two procedures in one, a facelift and liposuction combined. Note that in this article, we are discussing the internal, minimally invasive version of laser liposuction, not the external, noninvasive version. Noninvasive laser liposuction, which involves pads placed on top of the skin and uses no needles or incisions, does not achieve results nearly as effectively.

The incision made on your face is so small it should leave no visible scarring, and will require a few stitches at most. Typically, for face procedures using this new technology, one session should be enough to treat the whole area and to produce significant results.
